The work

Four studios. Nobody hired us.

These are spec builds. I picked four real shops, found what was actually broken, and built the replacement on each shop's own logo, palette and photography — unpaid and uncommissioned. They are here so you can judge the work before you spend anything. Every one of them opens as a real site: scroll it, click it, open the galleries.

    Outer Limits Tattoo

Long Beach & Costa Mesa, CA

    What was broken

A shop with a century of history and an archive to match, and a site that had not been touched in years. The material was all there already.

    What we built

Rebuilt around the 1905 Pike photograph their own history sits on, with one set of hours the shop controls.

    How it is built

Ink.Parallax depth-map treatment on the 1905 Pike Building photograph · one set of hours the shop controls · single self-contained HTML file

  2. The website built for Classic Tattoo in Fullerton, CA

    Classic Tattoo

    Fullerton, CA

    What was broken

Thirteen artists and a wall of work that search engines could not read a line of. Everything worth showing was already in the building.

    What we built

Rebuilt on the shop's own palette and artist photography, with every image described and the booking path off the inbox.

    How it is built

Built on the shop's own palette and its 13-artist roster photography · every image described · booking path moved off the personal inbox

  3. The website built for Mission Tattoo in Riverside, CA

    Mission Tattoo

    Riverside, CA

    What was broken

Open seven days a week and never had a website at all. Nothing to rebuild, which made it the cleanest test of starting from their crest alone.

    What we built

A first site built on their own engraved crest, leading with the phone number and the seven-day hours a walk-in shop lives on.

    How it is built

Ink.Tilt · built from their engraved crest alone · phone number and seven-day hours lead the page

  4. The website built for Sunken Ship Tattoo in Everett, WA

    Sunken Ship Tattoo

    Everett, WA

    What was broken

Heavy black linework that deserved better than a domain that no longer resolves. Recovering what survived was most of the job.

    What we built

A complete site rebuilt from the work that survived, ready to point a working domain at.

    How it is built

Ink.Slices depth-banded treatment for heavy blackwork · rebuilt from the two photographs that survived · ready to point a working domain at

Six concepts

02Concepts

Six more shops, a different kind of build. Each one has no working website of its own — some have none at all, some have a domain that no longer resolves. I built a first draft for each from whatever that shop already shows in public — its Google Business listing, its Facebook page, its Instagram. Not commissioned, not paid for, not that shop's site.

Its real site is still online, but the SSL certificate expired years ago — most browsers block it before anyone sees it.

  2. The concept built for Calaveras Tattoos in San Antonio, TX

Calaveras Tattoos · San Antonio, TX

Two domains listed as its website, both dead.

One domain redirects to an unrelated site, the other returns a billing error.

  5. The concept built for Atomic Art Tattoo Studio in Nampa, ID

No website — its BBB listing links to Facebook instead of a domain.

  6. The concept built for North Texas Tattoo Co. in Hurst, TX

North Texas Tattoo Co. · Hurst, TX

Both known domains now serve parked ad pages.

Read this before you open one

These are demonstrations, not deliverables. Across the four spec builds and the six concepts, each one says on every screen what it is and that it isn't that shop's own site, every copy is noindex, nofollow, and the phone and email links are deliberately inert — no real shop agreed to take calls generated by a demo.
